I was looking for a hat to wear to help shield me from the sun since my baseball cap wasn't really helping protect my ears or neck at the time. I eventually bought a full cover face mask to help protect my neck when i wore the cap but I still wanted a hat that would shield me more. That's when I stumbled upon this hat. Il start off with some pros first; – Shawl and face mask cover are easy to attach and detach – Hat feels lightweight – The mesh lining band on top helps keep you cool by letting in a breeze – The drawstring works easily to tighten and hold the wat in place for the most part – Cap part of the hat is bendable/foldable – Offers full protection from the sun – Size for me is perfect! – Foldable/compactable for easy storage Cons; – If it's too windy, even with the drawstring it'll still try and fly off – Face mask isn't exactly as tight (not the word I'm looking for but can't figure out how to describe it) as I'd want it to be – Even the slightest amount of wind blows the face mask part up into your face. Which can be dangerous when walking, jogging, running, hiking etc Aside from those few cons, which one of those cons can easily be fixed by not using the face mask part, this hat is perfect. In fact I use my own full face mask (YAKeNU brand boight off Amazon) in combination with this hat. I also put the hat over my ponytail and ears to help try and keep it more secure when it's overly windy since again, the drawstring can only help so much for that. So far I've been wearing it daily since I got it. And for $10, at the time of this review, I say it's definitely worth it!

    The hat is a little tight and I could not use a headband to absorb perspiration because of that. I also found out that using the facemask did not provide enough oxygen to breath and eventually I started to get a headache. When I removed the facemask, my headache disappeared. The hook system used to hold the neck and face flaps were difficult to keep from falling off especially when washing it after use so I made a hook so that it would not come off so easily.
    It is well made for multiple and continued use.

    It’s a bit of tight around the band, I was looking at as it was resting on my table the band looks adjustable, and when covering my hair it covers it completely. It folds in half so that helps with portabilty I would purchase it again as well.

    I was hoping this hat would be just what I needed. Reviews looked promising, and decided to get this rather than a 30 or 40 dollar hat from bass pro.

    If this was purchased with the intent to be a backup hat (which ill toss it behind the seat of the truck just incase I forget my other one when I go buy it) it wouldn't be bad. It would also be a great hat to give a kid, not so much for commercial lawn care.

    The hat is MUCH darker than pictured (I did confirm the package says light gray). Darker means hotter.

    Part of what makes this hat feel so cheap is there is no reinforcement around the outside edge. It's WAY too flimsy. A bit of a plastic reinforcement on it to give some rigidity would work wonders or if they did a layer of 3/8 foam rather than 1/4 inch. A larger diameter brim would help aswell, maybe another inch and a half all the way around? right now it sticks out about as much as a baseball cap.

    The pull string to tighten the headband is a joke, atleast on mine. It doesn't cover a third of the diameter of the hat, and does NOTHING for fitment. The "Sweat band" on the inside is barely big enough to cover the raw edge of the foam. If the wind kicks the hat wrong, or you
    brush up against anything, you have to remove the hat and reset the sweatband because the slightest movement and it slips out of the way protecting you from the foam edge. Mine may have been just VERY poorly cut/sewn, but these are the biggest issues I have. Yes it is super light weight, but a tad bit extra material would have made it much higher quality for very little difference in cost and weight.

    So like I said, if I bought it with the intent of being a backup hat for incase I forgot my other one, I wouldn't judge it nearly as harshly. Infact I would probably rate it about a 4-4.5, with the main issue being that it is MUCH darker than in the picture. So if you are going to use it infrequently, or are considering purchasing it as a backup and they extra heat from the darker color and flimsy construction will not bother you, I WOULD recommend this. If you are considering purchasing this for daily use in a commercial setting where the extra few degrees from it being darker adds up day after day, and the poor fitment and build will just make it annoying or even uncomfortable to wear, I would suggest going to an actual store and checking for a hat that you can be sure fits comfortably.

    This fishing hat really surprised me in the best way. I spend a lot of time outdoors, and I’ve gone through my share of sun hats that either feel too heavy, too hot, or just don’t stay put. This one checks all the right boxes—it’s feather-light, breathable, and offers serious coverage without feeling like I’ve strapped a helmet on my head.

    The UPF 50+ rating gives me peace of mind when I’m out fishing, hiking, or even just working in the yard. The neck flap and wide brim keep the sun off my face, ears, and neck—areas I’ve too often neglected in the past. I really like that the fabric doesn’t trap heat; it breathes well and dries quickly if it gets sweaty or damp.

    The adjustable chin strap is a nice touch for windy days, and it actually stays in place without choking me like some other hats do. I also appreciate that it folds down easily and fits in my tackle box or backpack without losing its shape.
